Check photo detail at the size it will appear in your book

Photo album resolution is a question about the intended viewing size, not a promise that editing can recover missing image detail. A photograph that looks acceptable as a small thumbnail may look soft when enlarged across a page. Choose the image for its role, adjust its size in the book and inspect the downloaded PDF. This workflow does not claim an image upscaler or a fixed print-resolution guarantee.

Fictional composition example

This fictional example compares two pictures of the same landscape. One is visibly soft at a large size but works as a small supporting image. The clearer picture carries the main scene, while the smaller picture provides context. The author checks both in the PDF rather than assuming every uploaded photo becomes sharp.

  1. Look at candidate images and assign a main-image or supporting-image role before selecting records.
  2. Review automatic placement, reduce an image that looks soft at its current size and edit the accompanying note.
  3. Open the PDF at the size you expect to read it and inspect faces, edges and lettering; replace an unsuitable photograph if needed.
Can editing restore detail missing from a photo?

Changing size or placement does not restore missing detail. Choose a clearer photograph or give the soft image a smaller supporting role.

Where should I check the result?

Open the downloaded PDF at your intended viewing size and look at faces, edges and text. A small thumbnail is not enough.

Is a particular print resolution guaranteed?

This guide gives no fixed printing guarantee. Check the PDF and any separate printer’s requirements before using the file for paper printing.
